An evening with Walter Isaacson, author of the much anticipated biography of Steve Jobs. Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 6:30PM at Trustees Theater in Downtown Savannah.
Enjoy an evening with Walter Isaacson as he discusses his biography of Steve Jobs, the man who revolutionized 6 industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing and digital publishing. While Jobs authorized and cooperated with the book, he asked for no control over the content or the right to read it before it was published.
Walter Isaacson is a writer and biographer. He is the President and CEO of the Aspen Institute, a nonpartisan educational and policy studies organization based in Washington, D.C. He has been the Chairman and CEO of CNN and the Managing Editor of Time.
Following Mr. Isaacson’s presentation, there will be brief Q & A period and book sales and signing.
The Walter Isaacson presentation and book signing will be at Trustees Theater on Thursday Evening, February 16, 2012. Tickets for the Isaacson presentation can be obtained in person, by calling (912) 525-5050 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday or via the SCAD Box Office, beginning October 24th. There will be a limit of four tickets to one purchaser. The Savannah Book Festival does not have any tickets to sell; all sales are through the Trustees Theater. Tickets are $10.00 per person. Doors will open at 5:00 PM.
Book Signing Procedures
Mr. Isaacson will be able to sign a maximum of 400 books. To be eligible for a book signature, patrons must have a signing card numbered 1 -400.
To obtain a signing card, patrons must purchase a copy of Steve Jobs. Only one signature card can be purchased per person. If someone would like to purchase multiple copies of the books, they may do so, but only one book and signing card per person will be issued. If a patron wishes to have a copy of a book other than Steve Jobs, they may opt to do so but they still must purchase a copy Steve Jobs to obtain a signature card.
All books for the signing will be on sale at the Trustees Theater from the time the doors open at 5:00 PM.
Patrons must have a ticket to the presentation in order to be allowed into the theater and to purchase books for signing.
At the conclusion of the presentation, patrons will be asked to line up in the corresponding order of their book signing cards beginning with the number one. All signature card holders will be assured of having their book signed*.
Photographs (only without the use of flash) may be taken while waiting in /after the book signing line. Due to time constraints, the line cannot be stopped for personal visits or photographs with Walter Isaacson.
* If patrons must leave the signing line, they need to return by 8:30 to ensure they are able to obtain a signature.
