Fall Update

Exciting names have been added to our Dave Barry, James Patterson, David Baldacci Festival line-up.  More than 40 authors, representing six genres, will grace our spectacular city over Presidents Day weekend, February 14-17, 2013.

Lifestyle is one of the most dominating genres and cultural themes today.  This genre covers information and instruction that is all about looking better, eating better, entertaining better, working better and playing better.  Exploding onto television, magazines, books, newspapers and a boatload of Apps gone wild over lifestyle, this surge began around the 1990’s.  Numerous theories abound to explain this insatiable interest and whole new palette of needs.  Some analysts point to our enduring love of the home and therefore the cocooning and nest-feathering.  “Futurist” Faith Popcorn has called it “hypernesting.”

This popular lifestyle genre has brought renowned lifestyle authors to our Festival.  Last year, Charles Faudree spoke to a packed house about his four decades of interior design.  This year’s James Farmer pre-Festival noon luncheon event on November 1 was an early sell-out.  Our next exciting lifestyle event features Savannah’s own celebrity chef and author Bobby Deen. read more…
