Volunteer at the Savannah Book Festival!

The Savannah Book Festival returns February 5–8, 2026, celebrating the written word and the joy of reading in the heart of historic Savannah.

Our four-day Festival is only possible thanks to the dedication of more than 200 volunteers who bring the event to life. From welcoming authors and assisting guests to supporting venue operations and book signings, volunteers are the heart of SBF.

SBF is recognized as one of the premier literary events in the country—and for many participating authors, appearing here is a dream come true. As an SBF volunteer, you help make those moments happen and become part of the Festival’s story.

Join our volunteer team and help us celebrate the power of books, stories, and community.

Venue Usher – Protagonist

Be an SBF ambassador on Festival Saturday and assist with venue transition and audience seating for a morning or afternoon shift as a venue usher.

Dynamic diplomatic skills and friendly attitude are a plus.

Logistical Team – Hero/Heroine

Help the SBF staff get the Festival Saturday venues ready on Friday afternoon/Saturday morning and then assist with line management for a 2-hour shift on Saturday.

Utility Player – Supporting Protagonist

No specific duties, but availability and flexibility are required as you may be asked to fill in for any of the above positions at any time…always exciting!

Write your ticket as a part of the Savannah Book Festival storyline! Volunteer positions include detailed instructions via email, and virtual training sessions. All volunteers receive a $5 food truck voucher.
