To ensure a successful Festival, we need the help of scores of volunteers!

Last year we were in the enviable position of having more volunteers than we had positions.  The same may be true for 2016.  To be considered for a volunteer role in the Savannah Book Festival, please complete our online form below to let us know about your interests and availability. Please note that some volunteer positions require advance attendance at training sessions.

Volunteered in previous years?

Please indicate your availability during the weekend of February 12-15, 2016. The duties are mostly physically light and social. Please see below for a specific list of jobs available before and during the Festival.

A number of volunteer opportunities with varying time commitments are available.

Venue Usher

Ensure that each Venue's audience is seated on schedule. Since some of our authors will likely attract a larger audience than their Venue will accommodate, this position will require diplomatic skills.

Information Representative

Answer questions SBF attendees have regarding the Festival and Savannah. Requires a general knowledge of Festival events and Savannah amenities and ability to rapidly and succinctly communicate information to our guests. (English/foreign language a plus). Stationed at our Information Booth or VIP Tent on Friday and Saturday of Festival weekend.

Utility Player

No specific duties, but availability and flexibility are required as you may be asked to fill in for any of the above positions at any time...promises to be fun and exciting! Some volunteers will be needed for our special events on Thursday and Friday evening or Sunday afternoon, so if your time is limited this may be a good option for you.

Thanks again for volunteering for the Savannah Book Festival! You will play an important role in providing Savannah's famous hospitality for our authors and visitors. For questions please contact the SBF at volunteer@savannahbookfestival.org.
